Words From Our Worshipful MasterRalph H . Meeks
As we start 2012, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our officers and committee members for their willingness to serve the lodge. We have come a long way from the days of unloading Joe’s trailer and setting up the lodge for every meeting. Our success has been due to the generosity and unselfish dedication of our officers and members. A special thanks to Brother John Miller for volunteering to publish our Trestleboard again. I am looking forward to serving as your master for the coming year and with your help, 2012 will be another good year for our Friendship Lodge.

Prayer from Chaplain Christopher Hendricks

Friends and Brethren,
As we enter the fall of the year many of or brothers find themselves busy with life; whether that be ballgames with the kids, yard work or just plain work. As always, we sincerely solicit your attendance at lodge but not at the expense of family or your regular avocation. Please remember the reasons that we all became Masons: to leave the world better than we found it, to support your fellow man, especially your brethren in Masonry. I ask that if you can't come to Lodge, please call a brother and ask him to come. As Masons, we can do anything if we all pull in the same direction. Sometimes that is difficult and we let the weight of the world, life in general and our emotions get in the way. If you are carrying emotional baggage, just put it down. If you have an issue, Man Up and talk it out. If you've been hurt or offended by the actions of others, tell that person. If you have hurt someone, offended someone, or upset them in any way, be a good brother and talk it out. If you let something go it will fester and stew and grow worse over time. The best course of action is to remember the oath that we all took and swore on the Bible and help your Masonic brother by getting over yourself and putting the fraternity ahead of yourself. Remember brothers, harmony is the strength of all well governed Lodges. Amidst the World's concerns and employments, forget not the duties which you have heard so frequently inculcated and so forcibly, recommended in lodge. Be diligent, prudent, temperate, discreet. Remember that around our altar you have promised to befriend and relieve every brother who shall need your assistance. You have promised, in the most friendly manner, to remind him of his errors and to aid his reformation. These generous principles are to extend further: Every human being has a claim upon your kind offices. Do good unto all. Recommend it more especially to the "household of the faithful." Finally, brethren, be ye all of one mind; live in peace; and may the God of Love and Peace delight to dwell with and bless you. Amen!
A Message from the Lee County Scottish Rite
Friends, The Lee County Scottish Rite Club is one of the most active in the state. We boast members from multiple lodges and even different Scottish Rite Valleys. EVERYONE is welcome! We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30PM at Baybreeze Seafood Restaurant in Sanford. EVERYONE is invited! Whether you are a freemason or a member of the Scottish Rite or not, everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out and bring their family to join in on the fellowship and fundraising. This is not a dinner where we simply pass the hat and ask for money. Each meeting at least two brothers and their families bring gifts (usually other clubs members that aren't even signed up for that month also bring items) to be raffled off to raise money for the Club's scholarship program as well as other charities for the community. These meetings are a great time for the families of freemasons to get together and meet one another and socialize and for prospective members and their families to meet the group that they may consider joining.
So whether you're a freemason or not, a Scottish Rite mason or not, or not even a mason yet at all, we'd love for you to come out and join us! Lee County Scottish Rite Club
